Bamiyan Travel is replete with a lot of wonder and historical adventure and the town of Bamiyan is a very important center in the history of Afghanistan. The town of Bamiyan is located on the ancient Silk Road, the town remains on the crossroads between the east and the west when all the trade between China and India and the Middle East passed through. The city approximately has a population of 61,863 people and lies in central Afghanistan. The capital of Bamiyan province, the city is about 240 kilometers away from the Kabul, the capital city of Afghanistan. Bamiyan is the biggest town in hazarajat and was famous for the Buddhas of Bamiyan that stood for almost two millennia.

Bamiyan Travel is one which is a very exciting journey into the depths of the city and its unique and rich cultural and historical past. Bamiyan is a small town with a bazaar at its center .The infrastructure of the city is in shambles but the spirit of the city and the warmth of the people are very palpable and unique. But there is an existence of an airport in Bamiyan. This airport can handle small flights and has a gravel runway.

The town is the cultural center of the Hazara people, one of the many ethnic groups in Afghanistan. Most people live down the Bamiyan Valley which is a picturesque location for campers and tourists alike. The Bamyan valley is about 9,200 feet in height. The valley is cradled between parallel mountain ranges of the Hindukush and Koh-i- Baba. With the bazaar at the center of town, Bamiyan is one of the most ancient of cities in Afghanistan. On the face of the mountains near the city three colossal statues were carved 4000 feet apart. One of them was the 175 feet high, the world's tallest statue of Buddha, carved during the Kushana period in the 5th century. The statues were destroyed by the Taliban in 2001 on the basis that they were un-Islamic. At one time two thousand monks prayed in the caves in the sandstone cliffs. The caves were also a big tourist attraction before the long series of wars in Afghanistan. Now the unheated door less caves shelter many refugees who have nowhere to go. Nevertheless, these caves are central to any Bamiyan Travel in Afghanistan.
