Bamiyan is connected to Kabul by two rough and dirty roads- the northern route and the southern route. It is advisable that while traveling through this route maintain a low profile by covering your face and head by scarves. The journey through this route will take you around 9 hours. The southern route starting from Kabul passes through Wardak Province and crosses the Hajigak Pass. The northern route emerges from the road near Charikar which heads north from Kabul. It will take you 10 to 12 hours to reach there by the northern route. The northern route passes through the Parwan Province. If you are coming from Herat to Bamiyan by road then it will take you 3 days, while it will take one day to travel to Bamiyan from Mazari Sharif.
