The Kissama Game Park, Luanda is situated in the southern part of Luanda. It is one of the most emerging tourist attractions in Luanda, the capital city of Angola. The Kissama Game Park, Luanda is also known as the Parque Nacional Da Kissama. It is spelled as Quicama in Portuguese.

In the eastern border, it is guarded by a belt of tall, dense forest. The Game park also has 110 kilometers of beautiful coastline. The Game reserve was originally established in the year 1938 but was designated as a National Park only on January 11, 1957.
There are various types of natural vegetation occurring at this game reserve. They constitute the habitats for the different kinds of wild animals found here. There is the flood plain formed by the Cuanza river with an embankment touching it and a grassland zone. Inside the park, there is a dense thicket, with trees of Savanna origin and Baobab trees.
The wildlife spectrum consists of dwarf forest buffalo, roan antelope, eland, bushbuck, waterbuck, manatee, marine turtles, tarpins. There are also rhinos and elephants found in this park. At present a project known as Noah’s Arc is going on for restoring more elephants to this park from places like Botswana, which has a higher elephant population.
Eco Tourism Trips are in progress in the region in game viewing vehicles. It will be a great experience to explore through the fascinating wilderness of the forest or the enormous beauty of the Cuanza river within just 3 hours in these vehicles also known as Kwanza, named after the river. It is not permitted to bring those vehicles outside the borders of Luanda.
