Government House

Fort James
This fort was built in the year 1706 to guard St.John's harbor. It is one of the many forts built by the British in the 18th century and is a must see attraction in the city. Fear of French invasion had prompted the construction of this fort. This fort is located on a headland, overlooking the town, northwesterly.
