Dilijan National Park, one of the popular tourist attractions in Armenia, is located in the beautiful town of Dilijan. The town is nestled in the wooded hills towards the north of the country. The park spread over an area of 28, 000 hectares, was founded in the year 1958. The Parz lake sits in the heart of the park at an altitude of 1400 meters above sea-level. The park covered by evergreen trees is extended along the River Getik. It is home to 107 species of exotic birds like Black Kite, Honey Buzzard, Lesser Spottled eagle, Gushawk and Eagle Owl. It is also home to 45 species of mammals, 4 species of amphibians and 16 species of reptiles.
