The Pilgrimage Church, Klagenfurt is a twin tower which was built in the first half o fth 15th century. This Gothic style structure was constructed on the foundations of a Roman Basilica, which was remodeled at the time of Renaissance and Baroque periods. A defensive wall surrounds the church as well as the cemetery. there is a west facade of the church having twin towers. South wall of the church has some nice old gravestones, which includes Gothic stones of red Adnet marble.
The Pilgrimage Church, Klagenfurt has the Keutschach Epitaph of 16th century which depicts the coronation of Our Lady. There is also a Roman stone relief belonging to the post wagon period (around 3rd or 4th century). At the front of the south doorway is the Late Gothic "lantern of the dead". One can see a finely proportioned octagonal Romanesque charnel house which is encircled by a frescoed arcade of around 1500. The Late Gothic hall church has three aisles and its varied and harmonious design has a profound effect on the visitors. In the panel of the ceiling above the center there is depiction of the genealogy of Christ using both human figures as well as ornamental designs by the Tree of Jesse (1490).
The center of the Baroque high altar (1714) has the revered image of Virgin (1425). There are also two Gothic winged altars in the choir. These are the Arndorf Altar on the left side and the St George Altar on the right along with a portrait of St George fighting the Dragon.
The second chapel (the Saxon Chapel) which is on the left side of the aisle, a pre-Romanesque altar table is present below which lies the remains of St Modestus (d. 763) in a Roman sarcophagus. The walls are beautifully decorated with paintings, mainly the fresco by the high altar of the Three Kings (15th century). To the south wall of the transept there is a large fresco by Herbert Boeckl (1925).
