The Ring, Vienna


The Ring, Vienna is a spectacular tourist attraction in the gondola city of Vienna. Also famous as the Vienna Ring Boulevard, the structure is located in the heart of the city and attracts all guests in the city. This ring was constructed under the rule of Emperor Franz Joseph I. The Ring, Vienna has mix of architectural buildings encircling the rings.

The Ring, Vienna or the Vienna Ring Boulevard is about 4 kilometers in length and covers the city centre. This ring was on the free space in the city after demolishing the old city walls. This act was done to narrow the gay between the city areas and its suburbs. The suburbs later on became a part of the main city in the year 1950.

Vienna Ring Boulevard was specially planned to allow space for walking. Visitors can see some remarkable buildings around The Ring, Vienna such as, Austrian Parliament,Hofburg, Museum of Fine Arts , State Opera House , public observatory Urania and the world-renowned Vienna University.

The architectural styles of the buildings around the ring have stark contrast. Tourists can observe the different architectural style, patterns and colors combinations. This variation is commonly termed as the “Ringstrassenstil”. The Museum of Fine Arts as well as the Museum of Natural History is examples of the Italian Renaissance art. The Vienna Opera House and the parliament building show the style of Greek classicism.

This lovely Ring Boulevard was open to public on 1 st May in the year 1865. This rare boulevard is really a great attraction in the country. The sections of the ring are as follows:
