The other feature of Khanega, Lankaran that deserve special mention are the ornaments which boast of intricate patterns and are made of ceramic. It is said that the construction of the building was started between 12th and 14th centuries. However, minor changes and renovation has taken place in the later years. The mesmerizing beauty of Khanega, Lankaran has impressed the Mongols.

History states that the Mongols did not want to destroy this beautiful structure and eagerly returned all the jewels and treasures that they have stolen from Khanega. Uzbek Khan of the famous Golden Horde visited the Khanega, Lankaran in 1318 and gifted gold and precious jewels to Khanega. A true believer of Islam he wanted to show his gratitude.
