Here you can see many artifacts on display that were discovered at the Chaa Creek by archaeologists who were conducting research within the reserve. For promoting cross cultural experience and understanding of culture and lifestyles of the modern day Maya there are also interpretive exhibits. The Blue Morpho Butterfly Farm and the Rainforest Medicine Trail are also administered by this Center. The Rainforest Medicine Trail showcases a collection of medical plants of the tropical forest.
There is also a library at the Chaa Creek Natural History Center, San Ignacio. The library displays butterflies to snakes which are pickled in jars. Just outside the library is a screened-in blue morpho butterfly-breeding center. Here you can see the pupae of the blue morpho butterfly which looks like jade earrings. Once you are inside the center you will be surrounded by these blue beauties. The Chaa Creek Natural History Center, San Ignacio is open from 8 in the morning to 5 in the evening every day.
