The temple was built in the year 1781 and was initially named as Church of Nuestra Señora de Copacabana.

Lighthouse of Conchupata is a place of great historical importance because here the current flag of Bolivia was hoisted for the first time, on November 7th, 1851. This is a must visit attraction in the city.

The city of Oruro is famous for its mines and San José mine is one of the most popular mine. The silver, lead and tin that were extracted of the tunnels in the mines were very important for the economy of the country. The mine is located at 5 kilometers from the downtown.

Spas of Capachos and Obrajes are an irresistible temptation for the tourists that arrive to Oruro. The Capachos are located at 12 kilometers from the city and have covered single pools. The Obrajes at 25 kilometers is an important recreational center in the city.

Sandbanks of San Pedro are the must see impressive dunes of sand that seem to be extracted of a gigantic desert. It gives a special panorama to the skirts of the San Pedro hill, which is located at to two kilometers from the city.
