Geography: Out of 232.1 km sq area of Boston, 125.4 km sq is land and 106.7 km sq is water. The city is surrounded by fourteen cities of US namely: Winthrop, Revere, Chelsea, Everett, Somerville, Cambridge, Watertown, Newton, Brookline, Needham, Dedham, Canton, Milton, and Quincy. Boston is separated by Cambridge and Watertown by the Charles River.
Economy: The colleges and universities play a major role in Boston’s economy. The city is also a hub of high tech industries like computer hardware and software companies, biotech companies, Biogen Idec, Millennium Pharmaceuticals and many more. Industries belonging to the financial sector like mutual funds and insurance companies also have good contribution in the cities GDP. Boston houses the headquarters of multinational companies like Gillette and Teradyne.

Boston College is the oldest college, and Boston University, the largest university of the city. The other eminent universities of Boston are Northeastern University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Harvard University. There are several renowned schools in Boston too.
