Locally known as the Kiarong Mosque, you will be impressed with the intricately ornamented minarets of the Jame’Asr Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque. Being the largest mosque in Brunei, you will notice the shimmering golden dome of the mosque from afar. One must remember that the mosque is closed to non-Muslims on Thursdays. But even though you are not allowed to enter the mosque, one can view the brilliant architecture from outside the premises. On the other days of the week mainly Sunday to Wednesday, the Jame’Asr Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque remains open for all from 8am to 12pm, 2pm-3pm and 5pm-6pm.
You will certainly cherish the sight of the Mosque which is included among the catalog of the tourist attractions in Bandar Seri Begawan. After a short visit to the mosque one can rest at the surrounding garden which is decorated with fountains and pitcher plants.
