Located near Rajgir, Indasala Cave is one of the most important Buddhist destinations in India. The remote and beautiful Indasala Caves are considered as a sacred and important destination in Buddhist circuit as the Buddha had delivered one of his most profound discourses, the Sakkapanha Sutta, here. During his stay here, Buddha also gave verses 206, 207 and 208 of the Dhammapada, to his disciples and followers. It's also the area where Sakka came to ask the Buddha his eight questions.

The beautiful Indasala Cave is situated at the base of a steep cliff halfway up the side of the Giriyek Mountain. Apart from the Cave, other major attraction of the place is the Hansa Stupa. Located on the top of Giriyek Mountain, the Stupa is believed to be the most complete one, still surviving. The great Chinese pilgrim Hiuen Tsang had also visited the stupa and recorded the interesting story behind its construction.
