Buddhist Pilgrimage and Agra Tour

Duration: 09 Nights / 10 Days Tour

Destinations Covered: Bodhgaya - Nalanda - Rajgir - Patna - Vaishali - Kushinagar -Lumbini - Sravasti - Varanasi - Agra - Delhi

Day 01: Arrive Bodhgaya
On your arrival at Bodhgaya International Airport, our company representatives will meet you and we drive to Bodhgaya (12 km - ½ hour). Arrive Bodhgaya and check into the Hotel. Rest of the day will be free for independent activities.

Overnight stay will be at Bodhgaya.

Day 02: Bodhgaya
After breakfast at the hotel, visit the sacred Mahabodhi Temple - where the Buddha attained enlightenment under a Bodhi Tree after years of search for the truth and knowledge. Afternoon, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Bodhgaya visiting Niranjana River, Sujata Village and many beautiful monasteries. Evening, visit the Mahabodhi Temple for prayer.

Overnight stay will be Bodhgaya.

Day 03: Bodhgaya - Nalanda - Rajgir - Patna
After breakfast at hotel, we drive to Patna visiting Rajgir and Nalanda, enroute.

Rajgir, also known as Rajgriha (the House of Royalty), is one of the most important Buddhist destinations of the world. The Buddha spent many years in Rajgir and delivered some of the most important discourses here. In Rajgir, visit the Gridhkut Hill and Vishwa Shanti Stupa among other attractions.

After lunch, we drive to Nalanda, famous for its ancient 5th century AD Buddhist University and Library. It was the first residential international university of the world with strength of 2,000 teachers and 10,000 monks' students from all over the Buddhist world. In Nalanda, visit the ruins of Nalanda University and Nalanda Archaeological Museum. Then, we continue drive to Patna.

Arrive at Patna and check into the Hotel. Overnight stay will be at Patna.

Day 04: Patna - Vaishali - Kushinagar
After breakfast at hotel, we drive to Kushinagar, visiting Vaishali enroute.

Vaishali was one of the important Buddhist destinations in ancient India. The Buddha preached his last sermon and proclaimed of his Parinirvana, near Vaishali. It was the venue of the 2nd Buddhist Council, which was held almost after 100 years of Buddha's parinirvana (passing away). In Vaishali, visit the Ashokan Pillar and Shanti Stupa.

Then, we continue drive to Kushinagar. Arrive at Kushinagar and check into the Hotel. Overnight stay will be at Kushinagar.

Day 05: Kushinagar - Lumbini
After breakfast at hotel, visit the Mahapari Nirvana Temple and Rambhar Stupa. Thereafter, we proceed to Lumbini by surface. Arrive at Lumbini and check into the Hotel. In the afternoon, visit the 'Sacred Garden' the birthplace of Lord Buddha. See the Ashokan Pillar, which carry an inscription identifying the spot as the birthplace of the Buddha, and the sacred Puskani Pond.

Overnight stay will be at Lumbini.

Day 06: Lumbini - Sravasti
After breakfast at hotel, we drive to Sravasti. Sravasti is the place where the Buddha spent his 24 rainy season. Arrive at Sravasti and check into the Hotel. Afternoon, enjoy a sightseeing of Sravasti visiting Maheth and Saheth.

Overnight stay will be at Sravasti.

Day 07: Sravasti - Varanasi
After breakfast at hotel, we proceed to Varanasi by road. Arrive Varanasi and check into the hotel. Evening free at leisure. Overnight stay will be at Varanasi.

Day 08: Varanasi - Sarnath - Agra
Early morning visit to lively Ghats of the Ganges to enjoy the breathtaking view of the sunrise and rituals performed by thousands, on its banks. Enjoy an unforgettable boat cruise on the Ganges, indeed a wonderful experience. Return to the Hotel for breakfast.

After breakfast, we drive to Sarnath, where the Buddha preached his first sermon. Sarnath is an important site of the Buddhist Circuit. In Sarnath, visit the Dhamek Stupa, Sarnath Museum and the Ashokan Pillar.

Afternoon, enjoy sightseeing of some of the famous Hindu temples. Evening, in time transfer to Railways Station for train to Agra. Overnight will be on board the train.

Day 09: Agra - Delhi
Arrive at Agra and check into the Hotel. After breakfast, visit the Taj Mahal - the most beautiful monument in the world and the magnificent Agra Fort. After lunch, we proceed to Delhi by road. Arrive and check into the Hotel.

Overnight stay will be at Delhi.

Day 10: Delhi - Tour Concludes
After breakfast at the Hotel, enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of old Delhi. Visit and see the magnificent Red Fort, Jama Masjid (Biggest mosque in India), Chandni Chowk Bazaar (oldest market of Delhi) and Raj Ghat (Mahatma Gandhi memorial). Afternoon, enjoy a sightseeing of New Delhi visiting India Gate, President House, Parliament House and Laxmi Narayan Temple. Evening free for Shopping.

After dinner, in time transfer to international airport to board the flight for your onward destination or way back home with sweet memories of India.
