The capital city of Cameroon is Yaounde. Cameroon is bordered by Nigeria in the west; Central African Republic in the east; Chad in the northeast; Gabon, Equatorial Guinea ad the Republic of Congo in the south. The topography of Cameroon is marked by coasts, rainforests, deserts, savannas and mountains. The country is divided into 5 geographical zones. The coastal plain stretches from Gulf of Guinea, covering a length of 15 kilometers to 150 kilometers. It is situated at an elevation of 90 meters from sea level. South Cameroon Plateau stands at height of 650 meters from sealevel. It emerges from the coastal plain. The plateau region is covered by equatorial forests.

The Cameroon range stretches from Mount Cameron to Lake Chad. This region comprises mountains, plateaus and hills. Mount Cameron, the highest point in the country, is located towards the coast of the country. It soars to a height of 4,095 meters above sealevel. Lake Chad is situated at the northern tip of Cameroon. This region includes the Western High plateau, volcanoes and crater lakes. The southern plateau rises towards the grassy Adamawa Plateau, in the north direction. The main rivers in Cameroon are Ntem, Sanga, Nyonga and Wouri. These rivers flow into the Gulf of Guinea. The other rivers of the country like Dja and Kadei drain its waters into the Congo River. While the Benoue River empties its waters into the Niger.
