The designs on the hats often contain information such as whether the wearer is married or not or whether she has children. Ceramic pottery is also an important article to be bought in the region. The pot has beautiful traditional decoration on the outside. The inside of the pot is greased with goat dung.

Eating in Ngaoundere- Ngaoundere has many local eateries which are cheap and very nice looking. If one does not care much about hygiene, one can feast on local soups and dishes primarily made of meat.
