Geography: A line of islands stretching toward New York forms Cape Cod. The island is divided into four portions: Upper Cape, Mid Cape, Lower Cape, and Outer Cape. A large area of water is enclosed by Cape Cod forming bays. The mainland to the north is called Cape Cod Bay, to the west it’s known as Buzzards Bay. Towards the south it’s named as Nantucket Sound. Bourne and Sagamore is a pair of canal-spanning highway bridges connecting Cape Cod with the mainland. Cape Cod observes a typically moderate type of climate having strong influence of the sea.
History: As mentioned by the Norse voyagers, Cape Cod was a landmark for the "Promontory of Vinland”, who was probably the early explorers. The city got its name from Cape St. James in 1602. A walking tour of Cape Cod was done by Henry David Thoreau in the mid-19th century, which is a significant event of Cape Cod’s history. European settlers choose Cape Cod as their first land in North America to get settled down in this part of the world.

Economy: A large portion of the revenue is earned from tourism.
Transport System: Direct flights can be plied from Boston, Providence, and New York to Cape Cod’s Hyannis Airport. Cape Cod can also be reached by ground transportation services like taxis, rented cars, and buses via route 3 and route 6. Ferry service can be availed between Boston and Provincetown.
Society & Cultural Life: Life at Cape Cod is full of Drama, music, and comedy. The Cape Playhouse, running since 1927, is the oldest professional summer theatre troupe on the town. Music is a part of the everyday life for the people of Cape Cod.
