History of Adre
The Chadian-Sudanese conflict started on December 23, 2005, when the government of Chad declared a state of war with Sudan and ordered the citizens of Chad to organize themselves against the 'common enemy'.
According to a report of CNN, an attack on Adre in Chad led to the deaths of either one hundred rebels or three hundred rebels. The Sudanese government was blamed for this violent attack. The attack led to the declaration of violence by Chad and the suspected deployment of the Chadian airfoce into Sudanese airspace.
Adre, Chad was attacked on February 3, 2006. The Govt. claimed that Sudan was entirely responsible for the attack and the fighting raged for hours between government troops and a coalition of four rebel groups including the United Forces for Democracy and Development.
Getting to Adre
Getting to Adre is convenient from any part of the country. So to reach to Adre, you have to reach to Chad first. Transportation in Chad is well-developed. Air France serves four weekly flights from Paris to Ndjamena and Air Ethiopia operates four weekly flights between Ndjamena and its hub in Addis Ababa, with one of those flights continuing to/from Bamako, Mali. In addition to this, Toumai Air Tchad also flies to a limited number of West and Central African destinations such as Cotonou, Bangui and Douala. The Libyan airlines Afriqiyah Airways also operates flights to Ndjamena that connect through Tripoli.
The best way to get around the town is to rent a car. There is a paved road, which runs from Massakory in the north through Ndjamena on to Guelendeng, Bongor, Kelo and Moundou. The tourists roaming in the town, can visit the popular attractions of Adre, Chad. Apart from sightseeing, there are plenty of other things to do for the tourists.
