The Malalcahuello National Reserve, Chile is located in the northern region of La Araucania. Malalcahuello National Reserve, Chile was founded in the year 1931. The reserve covers an area of 13,730 hectares.
The reserve is very popular due to the number of diverse species of flora that thrive in its atmosphere especially on the volcano slopes. The reserve is also home to a large number of spectacular trees such as araucarias, lenga, coigues, oaks and the rauli’s. Thermal Center Malalcahuello
Thermal Spa center in the reserve consists of a roofed swimming pool. You can pamper yourself at the relaxation area, which includes hydro massages. The large facility also provides Jacuzzi within the great swimming pool, air beds and two small fountains giving out water that was declared curative by the Health Ministry of Chile in the year 2003.
Center Corralco Mountain
The mountain is situated on the eastern side of Temuco and is very near to the south-eastern slope of the Lonquimay Volcano. This mountain is very famous for providing an excellent and unique environment, where you will feel connected with nature at its best. The mountain place is also excellent for enjoying some winter sports during the winter season.
Lonquimay Volcano
The Lonquimay volcano is located in the north-eastern side of the city of Temuco. The term ‘Lonquimay’ means the ‘great gorge’ in the Mapudungum language. The name was given to the volcano by the ancient Mapuches inhabitants of the region.
Lonquimay volcano is a part of the mountain range of The Andes. The Volcano becomes quite spectacular in the winter season when it becomes completely covered with snow. The araucaria forests also become completely covered with snow. There is a ski center that is located near the volcano which comes alive with people during the ski season. The next magical transformation of the mountain takes place during the months of November to January. During this period, the volcano snow starts melting and the appearance and color of the mountain changes radically.
