Rapa Nui National Park - Easter Island, Chile lies in the island of Pascua. The park is dominated by 3 big volcanoes. They are the the Maunga Terevaka, Poike and Rano Kao. It also has 70 smaller crater of a parasitic kind such the Rano Raraku, Puna Pau, Maunga Orito and the Rano Aroi. The peak of the Maunga Terevaka volcano in the Rapa Nui National Park - Easter Island, Chile has altitudes of about 511 meters above the sea level.
Rapa Nui National Park - Easter Island does not have permanent flow of water. The broken terrain of the park has sporadic drippings depending on the abundance and plentiful ness of the rainfalls. There are three lacustrian bodies in the craters of Rano Aroi, Rano Raraku and Rano Kao. The park however has a good availability of the sub-terranean waters.
The weather of the park has an average relative humidity of 77%. It experiences rainfall throughout the year with an annual average of 1,140 millimeter. May is the most rainy month and September the driest one. The annual average temperature is of 20.6ºC. The maximum average temperatures are 23.3º C in the month of March. The minimum average temperature is 17.9º C in the month of August.
Camping and food areas are available in the beach of Anaken. There are 7 sites with table-benches, gridiron and rubbish collectors and 5 camping sites with the same infrastructure and with sanitary installations.
The park has a 40 minute path leading to the ceremonial villages of Orongo in the Rano Kao volcano. The park also has two other paths of excursion. The first one is in the Rano Raraku volcano. From this place you can see the quarries where the Moai were made the other is the Anakena. It involves a wonderful journey by the coast of the island.
The recreational activities possible in the park are visits to the main cultural recourses, excursions, hikes, swimming and activities of beach, surface and underwater fishing, observation scuba diving and cavalcades.
Outside the park there is a good selection of lodgings. These include hotels and cabins to small residences run by Rapa Nui families. Shopping facilities are also available near the park. There is also a wide variety of vehicles for rent at the site of Rapa Nui National Park.
