The museum was used at the 1889 Centenary of the French Revolution in Paris as the exhibition hall of Chile. After the event the building was dismantled and shipped it to Santiago and reassembled. The Artequín Museum features reproductions of well known paintings by famous artists from Picasso to Monet. These paintings are used to introduce visitors to important art works.
The Museo de Ciencia y Tecnología (Museum of Science and Technology) is also inside the Parque Quinta Normal, Santiago. It features hands on displays and various exhibits. The fourth museum of this park is the Museo Ferroviario or Railway Museum. It is situated on Avenida Portales on the park’s southern end. You can see railway exhibits including 14 steam engines and railway carriages. With all these museums, the park is not only a relaxing place but also a place for gaining knowledge.
