This art gallery is placed in the spacious basement of the Palacio Lyon in Valparaiso. This basement used to be the cellar of the palace. Coming to this art gallery, you can still witness the walls and vaults made of brick and stone originally in the palace. At present, various exhibitions are organized at this gallery round the year. The art gallery remains open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 in the morning till 7 in the evening.
Valparaiso Natural History Museum
This museum is housed inside the premises of the Palacio Lyon, Valparaiso. Nearly 110,000 historic pieces are exhibited at this museum. The exhibits are classified into four types of collections, including the Natural Science section, the Archaeology section, the Historical Heritage section, and a well-stocked library. You can observe mollusks, insects, mammals, fossils as well as a variety of works of art and photographs in this museum. The museum remains from Tuesday to Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm and again from 2 in the afternoon till 6 in the evening. On Sundays and public holidays, the museum remains open from 10 am to 2 pm.
