Manjushri Temple: Built in 1691 the Manjushri Temple is situated north of the Chengdu town. This temple covers a huge area of 12.5acres of land and comprises of five temples made of wood and stone. All these were built above the ruins of an earlier monastery that dates back to the Southern Dynasties covering the period from 420 to 589. Once you are here you must check out the Hall of Shuofa Tang, Cangjing Lou and Daci Si. Here you will find statues of Buddhist gods and various bronze sculptures. These also reflect Chinese architecture at its best.

Du Fu's Cottage, Chengdu: Built in 759 AD this is the residence of China's most famous poets, Du Fu belonging to the famous Tang Dynasty. This has been enlarged later on by the Ming and Qing dynasties. In this thatched cottage Du Fu composed more than 240 poems reflecting the misery of the people. Tourists can roam around the expansive park, including a bamboo garden, several pavilions, and a number of bridges. Do not miss out the poetic history halls displaying the exhibits that provide details of Du Fu's life and work. Besides these you can see statues, stone carvings, paintings, and calligraphies by famous writers of different dynasties. All these help you to form an idea about traditional Chinese architecture.

Wangjiang Tower Park, Chengdu: Built in 1889 this is located on the south bank of Jinjiang River in Chengdu and is a popular landmark. Wangjiang Tower is dedicated to a woman, Xue Tao, a poet in the Tang Dynasty. Wangjiang Tower Park is one of three famous cultural relics in Chengdu. The other two being Wuhou Memorial Temple and the Thatched Cottage of Du Fu . Wangjiang Tower Park with its elegant garden of bamboo is the finest in Chengdu.
