The Mount of Unique Beauty, Guilin is one of the favorite Guilin Tourist Attractions. The city of Guilin is in northeast Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in China. It is situated on the west bank of the Lijiang River. The Mount of Unique Beauty, Guilin is also known as Duxiu Feng locally.
The Mount of Unique Beauty, Guilin is in the city center. To reach the top of the mount you have to climb 306 steps. The mount is 500 feet high and once you reach the top you can enjoy the magnificent panoramic views of the city and surrounding region. You can see from here the Folding Brocade Hill to the north, the Seven Star Crag to the southeast and the Wave Subduing Hill to the east.
The peak of the Mount of Unique Beauty, Guilin has an arched edifice known as The Southern Gateway to Heaven or Nantian Men. On the slopes of the mount are a number of caves. The inner and outer walls of the caves are full of inscriptions from the Tang Dynasty (617-907) and Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).
On the south side of the Mount of Unique Beauty, Guilin is the Wangcheng which is situated on the land belonging to the teachers training college. The Wangcheng was the residence of the King of Jingjiang but only the walls with balustrades and staircases remain. The Mount of Unique Beauty in Guilin can be reached from the Guilin Railway Station by taking Bus No. 1 or No 2. The mount is open from 8 in the morning to 5 in the evening daily.
