The region of Lhasa accounts to be one of the most desired tourist destinations especially for all those who wish to go for a unique vacation. The name of the museum was encrypted by the former Chinese chairman, Jiang Zemin.

The structure of the Tibet Museum in Lhasa, China was designed by a Han Chinese architect who belonged to the Sichuan Province. He has made use of both Tibetan and Chinese style of art and architecture. The Prelude Hall features lavish decorations and consists of richly adorned pillars, banners, brightly-colored beams, wall-hangings and headers.

There are two halls for exhibition on the first floor in the Lhasa Tibet Museum. The exhibitions reflect the rich and elegant historical facts about Tibet and the natural treasures of the country. The museum houses five other halls for exhibition where visitors can get to witness and observe the Tibetan lifestyle including the local customs, religion, handicrafts and various other aspects reflecting the age-old tradition of Tibet.

Many cultural remnants such as the several statues of the Buddha posed in different ways, gold albums, seals of jade from the royal family, bright 'tangkas', and a collection of gift items given to by the rulers can be noted in this museum. Tourists can also get to see a whole range of Tibetan scriptures and also a collection of Sanskrit scriptures. Exclusive crafts items, decorations of gold, silver and jade, traditional ornaments, costumes and Chinese pottery can also be noted in here.

The Tibet Museum, Lhasa hosts various seminars and cultural programmes reflecting the heritage and civilization of Tibet. Several cultural remnants are conserved in here and the museum authority encourages the archaeological study of Tibet. A considerable rate of international tourists takes interests in learning and knowing the Tibetan art and culture.
