Coloane Village, Macau is one of the major Macau Tourist Attractions and a must visit place for you while you embark on Macau Tours. Coloane Village, Macau is actually an ancient fishing village. Come here to experience the old traditions which are still very much prevalent here. Get a glimpse of the old manners and techniques at the junk-building sheds which occupy the northern end of the village. It is a quiet little place with a typical old world charm which is sure to delight you.

Coloane Village, Macau has some of the most beautiful examples of the fusion of old Chinese and Portuguese architecture in the form of the old buildings. The village has its center at the Eduardo Marques Square. It is a rectangle paved in black and white cobbles spread in a wavy pattern and the pattern will remind you of the sea. The square opens to a seaside promenade that follows the channel which divides Macau from the hills of China proper. Coloane Village, Macau has its own attractions with lots to offer. You will find the Chapel of St. Francis Xavier at the opposite end of the square. It is a lovely little mustard-colored chapel dedicated to St Francis Xavier. Built in 1928, the Chapel of St. Francis Xavier contains the holy bones of Portuguese, Japanese and Vietnamese Catholic martyrs. There is a monument in front of the chapel in memory of a successful Portuguese action against pirates in 1910.

Apart from the Chapel of St. Francis Xavier, you will also find a number of Chinese temples dotted around the Coloane Village, Macau. The Tam Kung Temple remains a must visit site for you while you are here. While you feel a bit tired strolling around the various sites at Coloane Village in Macau, you can step in any of the small eateries located here. And, the choice for the dishes is quite extensive and is sure to please you. You can visit the Cacarola and the O'Pescador if you are looking for authentic Portuguese cuisine. Head for the Restaurant Alem Mar if you are in the mood for savoring Cantonese delicacies. Another great choice is Nga Tim Café.
