On the outskirts of Changmen, Suzhou, you will find Lingering Garden, Suzhou. This Garden in Suzhou is part of the four great gardens of Suzhou. Lingering Garden, Suzhou was built by Emperor Jiajin who belonged to the Ming dynasty. This garden has a total area of 23,000 square meters. During the rule of the emperors, several gardens were built in traditional Chinese style. These were used for the purpose of pleasure. Lingering Garden, Suzhou is one of these Classical Private Gardens in Suzhou. This Suzhou Tourist Attraction was added to the list of World Heritage Sites by UNESCO in the year 1997.

Lingering Garden, Suzhou has a history of 400 years behind it. As a result it is also an important historical structure of Suzhou. It was originally built in 1593 and then it was owned by several people who tried to beautify it in their own way. Lingering Garden in Suzhou is divided into 4 scenic areas. The theme on which the garden is built is lifted from a poem. The main attraction in the central area is the Hanbi Mountain House. This hall is situated along the banks of the Lotus Pond. This mountain is also known as the Lotus Hall.

Another stunning hall is the Five Peaks Hall that is located in the east area. The design of this section has a resemblance with those of the edifices depicted in the poetry of the famous poet, Li Bali. Outstanding natural sceneries, ancient temples, domiciles, private gardens and several trees, buildings and flowers make Lingering Garden, Suzhou worth your visit. If you are in the city in autumn do visit this garden. The maple trees turn yellow during this time and the entire garden looks amazingly beautiful.

For a visit to Lingering Garden in Suzhou you will have to pay admission fees. The Lingering Garden, Suzhou is open from 7.30 in the morning till 5.00 pm.
