You must not miss Lion Grove Garden, Suzhou. A lot of cultural significance is associated with this Suzhou Tourist Attraction. Lion Grove Garden, Suzhou is located on 23 Yuanlin Road. This street is located in the northeast of Suzhou. This structure is one of the most famous Classical Gardens in Suzhou. If you are a first time visitor to this city then you must visit this site. Such gardens in China were mainly used by the royal people for pleasure. Lion Grove Garden in Suzhou however differs from the other gardens.

Lion Grove Garden, Suzhou was approximately built in 1342 in memory of Monk Zhongfeng by his disciples. Thus apart from natural beauty, spirituality is also associated with this Sightseeing attraction in Suzhou. The garden derives its name from a reference to a Buddhist story about lions where there is a reference about a rocky place in a bamboo forest. Lion Grove Garden, Suzhou covers an area of 10,000 square meters. It houses 22 pavilions, 71 stone slabs and other art works. The rocks have been piled up in the forms of lions. This garden is also famous for its limestone rockery that has been made from Taihu Lake.

The garden has several ornamental towers and pavilions. True Delight Pavilion, Standing-in-Snow Hall and Pavilion for Greeting the Plum Blossoms are worth your visit. It is said that Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty visited the gardens six times and wrote "Zhengu" meaning true delight. This inscription can still be seen on the pavilion.

In the past this garden in Suzhou was a favorite place for artisans and calligraphers. Some famous pieces of art here comprise 'Panoramic View' by Ni Yunlin, also known as Ni Zan and the 'Twelve Scenic Spots in Lion Grove Garden' by Xu Ben. Both these painters belonged to the Ming Dynasty. Lion Grove Garden, Suzhou is closely associated with Zen Buddhism and it remains an important structure for Chinese history.
