The Twin Bridges in Zhouzhuang is one of the most prominent among all the bridges featured in this wonderful town. The Twin Bridges, Zhouzhuang comprises Shide Bridge and Yongan Bridge. These bridges are the most famous one and are counted as the icon of Zhouzhuang. It is to be mentioned that the bridges were built between 1513 and 1619 AD. These bridges are connected with each other.

The Twin Bridges were built in the Wanli age of the Ming dynasty. You can find these bridges at the northeast region of the town. The Shide Bridge can be sited at the east-west portion and is marked by a remarkable round arch. On the other hand, Yongan Bridge is placed at the north-south region and is marked by a square arch. These bridges cross two rivers named Yinzi Creek and Nabeishi River. Twin Bridges, Zhouzhuang appears like an antique style Chinese key and is often called as the key bridge.

Twin Bridges, Zhouzhuang, one of the major Zhouzhuang Tourist Attractions, were depicted in the thirty eight canvasses of the eminent painter, Chen Yifei. His paintings were displayed in a New York gallery of Armand Hammer. This depiction of the twin bridges got lots of acclamation and captured the attention of the world for Zhouzhuang. Interestingly, the painting of the twin bridges was chosen in 1985 for the first-day cover of the United Nations' postage stamp.
