Guanacaste is situated in the northwestern part of the country along the coast of the Pacific Ocean. Nicaragua borders the north part of Guanacaste. To the east is the Alajuela Province is situated and to the southeast is the Puntarenas Province. The capital of Guanacaste is Liberia.

Guanacaste is blessed by having many of the country most beautiful beaches of the country and its sunlit dry season agrees with the winter months in northern latitudes.
