“Sretan Bozic”, yes this is how the people living in the country of Croatia will wish you during Christmas in Croatia. “Sretan Bozic” in Croatian language means Merry Christmas. This ribbon stands for the Croatian trobojnic. On January 6th a ceremonial dinner is kept for the 3 Kings. The people in this country consider that the braking of bread as sacred. They consider this as the symbol of Eucharist.

Many cuisines are prepared on Christmas. The cuisines are quite rich and mouth-watering. You can find many of these special dishes being cooked only during Christmas. The traditional food generally comprises of fish and not meat. The important meals include the meal during Christmas Eve and during Christmas dinner.

The decorations during Christmas comprise of leaves from the evergreen trees. The Christmas tree is decorated during Christmas Eve. This decoration of the Christmas tree is known as Badnjak. Many other customs are followed while decorating the houses during Christmas. The streets and lanes of the cities and towns are decorated with shimmering lights. The children here receive presents not from Santa but from Saints. The difference in the Christmas celebrations in this country is due to the Culture of Croatia.
