Bayamo Excursions should include a visit to the following places :

Conjunto Arquitectónico de la Plaza del Himno : It is the main square of Bayamo. Take a tour of the plaza to know the city better. The Plaza del Himno has got its name after La Bayamesa, the National anthem of Cuba.

Casa Natal de Céspedes : Located next to the Hotel Royalton on the north side of the plaza in Bayamo, the Casa Natal de Céspedes is the birthplace of the "father of the Cuban nation". The buildings on the square were destroyed in a massive fire. Surprisingly, it is the only house on the square that escaped destruction from that fire. Today it houses a museum which opens from Tuesday through Friday. The museum has a chronological exhibit about the Céspedes family and the furniture and other objects used by the family. La Catedral de Bayamo : This is a must see in the city. A magnificent, ochre-colored, church which was built in the 16th-century. It was almost devastated in the fire in 1869. The cathedral has undergone renovation several times during the course of time. The church building features a high peaked wood-beam ceiling. Above the altar, you will see an eye catching mural illustrating the battle and commemorating a crucial local episode of the parish priest blessing the rebel army flag.

Parque Céspedes : Parque Céspedes is the focal point of modern Bayamo. It's an attractive square decorated with tall royal palm trees. The light blue and pink building at one side of the square is the venue from where the fire of the revolution started. A marble bust of the independence fighter Perucho Figueredo flanks the plaza.
