The Museum of Regla, Havana showcases the history of the formation as well as development of the town of Regla. The Museum of Regla, Havana is situated in Marti in between Facciolo an La Piedra.

There used to be an Indian settlement in the 16th century at the territory of Regla and Casablanca which is at the far end of Havana Harbor. After a century later, a land was donated by a pious landowner close to the sea for establishing the shrine of Our Lady of Regla, which was going to become the future town. At the museum will come to know the founding as well as development of Regla. The Museum of Regla, Havana has taken enormous steps of the preservation of the traditions of the town.

The people of Regla were very much involved in the independence struggle that took place in the 19th and 20th centuries. The documents, weapons, pictures as well as personal belongings of the illustrious and noble persons of Regla who fought for the freedom are preserved in the museum. There is a room devoted to religious syncretism on Yemaya worship, who is the patron goddess of the Harbor of Havana. There is a precession along the streets of Regla on September 7 to celebrate in her name. The museum has a good collection of sacred objects, attributes as well as religious pieces. There is a special place at the museum which is reserved for the Tabla de lfa and the shells which is a mysterious divine instrument.

The Museum of Regla, Havana is open from Tuesday through Saturday from 09.00 hrs to 18.00hrs and on Sunday from 09.00 hrs to 13.00 hrs. The Museum is closed on Mondays.
