Holguin Travel helps one explore the beautiful city of Holguin. Holguin Travel guides one to all the interesting places in Holguin which includes historical ruins and lovely beaches.

Holguin has 41 exceptional beaches to see and explore. The beaches are surrounded by clear blue green and warm water, fine white sand and lush vegetation along the northern coast of Holguin. The most outstanding beaches are Guardelavaca, Playa Esmeralda and Pesquero. The Pesquero has many sites for scuba diving. The Bahia de Naranjo Nature Park, near Playa Esmeralda, has main attractions like the “Las Guanas” ecological and archeological trail, sailing in yachts and an aquarium in the sea. In the foot of the Yaguajay hill near Guardelavaca is the Chorro de Maita , the largest and most interesting ceremonial site of the Cuban native Indians. The Taino Village nearby represents the life of these Indians who worked pottery and farming.

Saetia Key found in Nipe Bay is another fascinating site of Holguin. This nature park has an area of 16 square miles 65% of which are covered by forests. It is the best place for safaris, horseback riding or swimming in any of its 12 beaches.

Another great attraction is the La Mensura National Park in Pinares de Mayari. It is 3, 264 feet above the sea level. Here, one can see about 300 endemic species of flora and enjoy other cultural and recreational options. These include the impressive Gran Salto de Guayabo, the largest waterfall in Cuba.

The Bariay National Monument Park is a monumental complex that celebrates the arrival of Christopher Columbus. Replica of a Spanish fort, stables, a restaurant and Playa Blanca with its fine white sand and clear warm waters can be found here. From here the visitor can observe two of the most striking sights of Holguin namely the La Silla de Gibara and the Mezquita de Colon, named in honor of the Lovers Cliff.

Other attractions are the Bani Indo-Cuban Museum and Villa Blanca in Gibara. In and around Holguin one can find several sites for scuba diving, 19 historical and cultural places, 21 caves, 135 archaeological sites and 6 deposits of medicinal mineral mud and water and 12 protected areas.
