Before visiting Cuba, it is better that you know about the weather in Cuba. The weather in Cuba in general is mild subtropical since Cuba lies close to the Tropic of Cancer. Due to its narrow configuration from east to west, Cuba receives the refreshing trade winds along with the marine breezes, which keep the climate of Cuba cool. You would find that the average temperature throughout Cuba all round the year ranging between 20 ºC and 35ºC. Sometimes during winter, it goes down to 10°C.
The winter in Cuba is short but quite chilly, courtesy to the influence of the cold air masses that come to Cuba from the North. If you are visiting the eastern part of Cuba, then you would find that this part of Cuba enjoys a warmer weather condition than the western part and the temperature difference between day and night are less accentuated in the coastal parts than in the mainland. You would love the beaches because the average temperature of the water is more than 25°C.
During summer though the north-east trade winds take away the heat to some extent, still Havana and some other cities witness about 33 °C of heat. During winter the day temperature come down to 20°C and sometimes drops much lower than that when you can have colder days.
Rainfall is another factor affecting the weather in Cuba. The average rainfall is from 860mm in the East to 1730mm in Havana and you can witness rainy days during summer and also autumn. Though most of the times, the seasons are marked by light drizzle, at times you can get totally drenched by torrential rains.
