They proclaimed this Christaina Island as a free state and called it the "Free State of Christiana". The Danish people protested as a result of which this huge establishment came to be recognized as the 'social experiment between the years 1973 and 1975. This island exists even today and is one of he major places of interest in and around Bornholm.
