Amalienborg, Copenhagen was built by Frederik V to mark the 300th anniversary celebrations of the House of Oldenborg, Amalienborg. The castles were built by Niels Eigtved in rococo style. The Moltkes Palace served as Christian VII's palace. Schackske Palace used to be palace of Christians IX as well as the royal residence of Prince Henrik and Queen Margrethe. Levetzaus Palace used to be the palace of Christian VIII and the royal residence of the Crown Prince Frederik. While the Brockdorfske Palace used to be the palace of Frederik VIII.
