Sightseeing in Denmark

Sightseeing in Denmark has drawn tourists in large numbers to Denmark. Also called the fairytale country, Sightseeing in Denmark can be an extremely enchanting and a mesmerizing trip for every visitor.

Denmark has plenty of sandy beaches which primarily attract tourists to the country in large numbers. Most of the tourists are drawn by the relative metropolitan Copenhagen and the cheap prices and easy access of beer and alcohol. Copenhagen is a wonderfully compact city with many sights and attractions. Some important places to visit are.

The Town Hall Located in the very heart of the city one can have a look into the beautiful interior of the Town Hall building. Visitors can also climb the tower on a clear day to get a fantastic view of the city.

Stroget Copenhagen's- This is the city's famous pedestrian street. It is made up of Frederiksberggade, Nygade, Vimmelskaftet, Amagertorv and Ostergade. It is a lively street with an endless selection of fantastic boutiques - with many of the city's main sights and attractions nearby. The Thorvaldsens statues,Caritas fountain, and cathedrals can be found here.

Stroget's little alleyways- Here one can find the atmospheric old lanes Laederstræde and Kompagnistraede. Cafes lie side by side with smart boutiques, antique dealers and small galleries. Here one can also see the Nikolaj Church which is now used as a gallery.

The Christiansborg Castle houses the Danish Parliament, Folketinget, and the Royal State Apartments. Next to the parliament is Børsen, with its entangled dragon spire which in the past served as the Stock Exchange. Here one can also find the Thorvaldsen's Museum. Through the Royal Danish Arsenal Museum one can find entrance to one of the city's smallest oases - the garden of the Royal Library. A shortcut from here to the area of Christians Brygge takes one to The Black Diamond. It has amazing architecture situated right on the water front opposite the recreational harbor pool area.

The best way to visit the cities of Denmark is by traveling in the city buses. Water buses and sight seeing boats are also fantastic alternatives to explore the cities.
