Egeskov Castle, Odense is located within a picturesque surrounding. The ancient castle dates back to the 14th Century and situated in the Funen Island in Denmark. Odense is the capital of Funen Island where the castle is one of the popular attractions among the international visitors. Egeskov Castle, Odense was built by Frands Brockenhuus in 1554 and is known to be the best preserved Renaissance water castle in Europe.
The ancient castle comprises of two huge buildings which are inter connected with a thick double wall. The wall had been constructed to protect the castle from the enemies. The wall is 1 meter thick and consists of some secret staircases and a well. There are many other structures placed within the castle for defending it from the enemies and for fighting with them. The defenders can attack the enemies from the two round corner towers which were especially built to fight from. Other important items inside the castle are artillery ports, scalding holes, arrow slits, round-arched windows and round-arched blank covering the gables.
The Egeskov Castle is surrounded by an old park covering a vast area of 49 acres of land. The park is covered with lush greeneries as the large park is divided into several gardens. The visitors can get to see many beautiful items inside the park like fountains, a gravel path and topiary figures. The names of the various gardens are:

If you want to know more about the garden, you should be informed that there are four hedge mazes included in the hundred year old maze. The newest addition in the mazes is the world's largest bamboo maze consisting Chinese tower at the center and a bridge along which one can go out of the maze. There is also a sundial, inside the park, which is three meters tall and made by the Danish poet and mathematician, Piet Hein.
Apart from these there are some museums located in Egeskov Castle in Odense. Various museums contain:

- collection describing the history of agriculture
- collection of flying vehicles
- collection of Falck and other emergency vehicles
