Temple of Abu Simbel is a popular tourist attractions and is often referred top as the second wonder of Egypt because of its architectural grandeur. The smaller temples of Abu Simbel consists of the Temples of Hathor and Nefartari. This temple was placed at distance of 100 meter north east of the temple of Ramses II. The temples are dedicated to Goddess Hathor and emperor's wife Nefartari as the name imply. This the first temple in Egypt to be dedicated to a queen. These temples are brilliant masterpieces of ancient architecture. The design of the temples is a unique one and the structures of the temples are constructed in such a manner that sunlight can enter the innermost part of the temple only twice a year, on the days of 22nd Frbruary and 22nd October, which are the birthdays and days of accession to the throne of the Pharaoh.
