The International Coastal Road connects the city to Port Said. The Desert road links Alexandria to the city of Cairo. Ta’ameer Road “Mehwar El-Ta’ameer” has links to North Coast.

The railways route connects Alexandria city to Abu Qir in Egypt. The train stations in the route are Misr Station and Sidi Gaber Station. Trams are also an important means of communication and are integral part of Alexandria travel. The tram network in the city was built around 1860 and is considered the oldest in the country. Traveling by tram is ideal for sightseeing trips in the city as the slow pace helps better glimpse of Alexandria. Other means of transports in the city are Taxis, Buses and Mini buses.
