Keren is the second largest city of Eritrea. It was formerly known as Cheren. The city lies to the north west of Asmara. The total population of the city is about 75,000. Keren is the capital of the province of Anseba. It is a mountain city and is one the largest of the five major secondary towns of the country of Eritrea. It is mainly an agricultural center of Eritrea.
