Levuka Museum
The Museum is the original building of the Morris Hedstroem merchant company. The museum dates back to 1868. The Levuka Museum displays an interesting collection of historical artifacts. It also boasts of a large shell collection and even houses a library.
Navoka Methodist Church of 1860
This is the oldest Church in Fiji. It is a timeworn Church built in 1860. It is located near the 199 steps leading up Mission Hill. Nestling along the hillside is beautifully preserved colonial homes. From the hillside one can enjoy turquoise sea-viewsAnother important landmark in Levuka is the Sacred Heart Church. It is a legacy of the Marist Fathers, who arrived in 1858. The church boasts a French clock that strikes twice each hour, with a one-minute pause in between.
Bishops Tomb is also an important site in Levuka. It was here that the first two bishops of the Roman Catholic Church, which operates in Fiji, were buried.All the historic buildings are in typical British colonial built. Sacred Heart Church and Navoka Methodist Church were both built around 1860. The museum, library and city hall were built around in 1889. Also interesting are St. Johns College, Marist Convent School and the Ovalau Club. Niukaube Hill is the former site of the parliament and court of Ratu Seru Cakobau.
Bobo's farm in Rukuruku is also an important sightseeing place. The Farm is nestled in the Rukuruku valley, on a riverbank. One hour truck ride from Levuka this is one self-contained guesthouse with excellent traditional meals. Activities like entertainment, trekking, swimming, water sliding, fishing, bird watching, kava-round and singing is what one can indulge in, in the farm house.
Silana Village is another important place to visit. This small settlement offers an experience of typical Fijian life style. About 45 kilometers away from Levuka is Leleuvia Island which is a beautiful coral bay.
