Savusavu is a town in the Fijian Province of Cakaudrove on the island of Vanua Levu. It has a population of 4,962, according to the 1996 census. Savusavu is one of the most sought after tourist destination in Fiji Island and is known as the "The Hidden Paradise" of Fiji. Both domestic and the international tourists just love to flock to this place to spend their holidays.

The town of Savusavu was originally recognized as a trading center for beche-de-mer, sandalwood and copra. The town also serves as a major site of a major copra mill. Tourism in Savusavu is growing in importance owing to its diving and yachting facilities. The Geothermal energy is a resource that is waiting to be tapped in Savusavu. According to the geological survey, it has been found that Savusavu's hot springs could generate enough electricity to power the entire island of Vanua Levu. Savusavu in Fiji is famous for its hot springs and is located opposite to the Hot Springs Hotel. Another popular and natural landmark of Savusavu is the Nawi Island, which is situated just offshore from Savusavu.

The old Copra Shed Marina is another important landmark of Savusavu. This Shed was built in the 19th Century and is a major landmark of the town. The town has been recently renovated in recent years by the geologist and a resident of Savusavu, Geoff Taylor. The town now houses the Savusavu Yacht Club, a café or the Captain's Café and many more. There is a good restaurant Surf and Turf run by the former chef of the J.M. Cousteau Resort. You will also find Fiji Air offices, Pacific Sun reservations (Formerly Sun Air) offices, a chandlery shop, a geologist's office, a gift shop, travel agency and two rental apartments among others in Fiji. There are also moorings for yachts in Savusavu along with shower and toilet facilities.

Savarekareka Mission, situated 10 kilometers north of Savusavu is a yet another important landmark in the town of Suvasavu. The chapel is the first Roman Catholic mission on Vanua Levu and was built around the year 1870. This chapel is still functioning.
