Finland has four distinct seasons. The climate is milder in many areas because of the warming influence of the Gulf Stream. Temperatures range from minus 30 to plus 30 degrees Celsius. Winter usually sets in November. There are good opportunities for winter sports in all parts of the country.

Finland has only one time zone. From early spring to mid-Autumn, Summer Time is followed and the clock is set ahead by an hour in March.
