Cuisine of France is very diverse as every region has its own unique cuisine, northwest France uses butter and cream whereas southwest France uses duck fat and mushrooms on the other hand southeast France uses olive oil and herbs and tomatoes, the northern France uses potatoes and pork and eastern France uses sausages and beer.

Other than above mentioned cuisines several other cuisine of France are popular among the youth. These include Loire Valley cuisine, Basque cuisine, cuisine of Provence and the cuisine of Roussillon. In the recent times local, countryside food products and regional cuisines have become more popular among the masses.

French cuisines many vary according to seasons and festive time. Festive meals include several main dishes along with other special dishes. Quick foods such as Steak frites, Poulet frites, Croque-monsieur and Croque Madame are also popular among the youth.
