Weather in France

Weather in France

:The presence of mountains on one side and the sea on the other side has led to the emergence of a mixed climate in France. The unique climate of the country is amply reflected in its weather conditions.

Because of its location between the Equator and the North Pole, France has a temperate climate. Winters are cool and comfortable. However, in the mountains and in the north eastern part of the country winters are much more colder. Weather is dry in this part of the country with extensive snowfalls. Rainfalls are also common in this part of the country.

The presence of the Mediterranean Sea in the southern part of the country with the warm Gulf Stream that blows from here leads to mild winters and dry summers. The western part of the country is characterized by high humidity. This is because of the presence of the Atlantic Ocean on the western part of the country. The strong winds that blow from the sea brings heavy rain to the cities located in this part of the country.

Weather in France

is truly unique. The north eastern part of the country is characterized by a continental type of climate. The winters are extremely cold and the summers are hot. Rainfall is irregular in France. The Paris basin is known to experience lowest rainfall in the country. The southern portion of the country has a more or less pleasant climate throughout the year. The weather conditions are god with mild and sudden rainfalls during spring and autumn. The biggest feature of this region is the 'mistral'. It is a cold and dry wind that blows in the southern part of France almost throughout the year. During summertime however, there is no rainfall and the weather is humid or dry depending upon the region.

The temperatures vary form 52 °F / 11°C to 61 °F / 16 °C during the winter times. Humidity varies from 52% to 97%. Places like Alfred Faure experience temperatures as low as 2 °C during the winter months. During the summers, the temperatures can go up to 25°C and above.

The climate of France is, in general, pleasant and comfortable. The summers in the coastal areas tend to be hot and humid. However, for most part of the year the country experiences a comfortable and pleasant weather.
