Moanda is one of Gabon's four largest towns. It is situated in Haut Ogooue. The town has a population of about 23,000 inhabitants. Moanda is one the world's major manganese mining regions. It consists of 3 areas- the first region comprises the commercial center and the populated districts of Fumier, Ankoula and Montagne Sainte. The second part of the town consists of most populated districts of Leyima, Leklo, Alliance and L' Oasis. The third region include many districts like Mukaba. The town is encircled by plateaus like the Bangombe and mountains like Mount Moanda and Mount Boudinga. It experiences equatorial climatic conditions. During January- March the weather varies from high temperatures to thunderstorms. You will find the weather cool and soothing during July and September.
