It is a black and white rectangular shaped building that is surrounded by a high walled boundary. The hall of the Du Bois Memorial Center is covered with portraits of dignitaries well known in Africa and Ghana. The galleries are full of manuscripts and books of famous writers. There is also a plaque that has extracts from poems by Du Bois himself.
