Nzulezu, Sekondi-Takoradi attracts visitors because of its unique position. This village of Ghana is one of the chief attractions as it floats on water. Located 90 kilometers westwards from the city of Takoradi, the name of the village means 'surface of water'. Nzulezu, Sekondi-Takoradi is reachable by road and tourist can cover this destination in a day tour of Sekondi-Takoradi region.

Nzulezu in Sekondi-Takoradi is a famous water village in the country. The locals and the settlement are on the one side of the Lake Tadane. All the houses, schools and other village dwellings are erected with help of bamboo sticks. The village lake is fed by river water flowing nearby.

Nzulezu village efficiently functions and runs its daily chores on the surface of water. Tourists will be amazed to see the locals work on stilts. Right from schooling, recreational activities to household cooking and cleaning are managed on the water surface.

The locals staying in this spot had a reason behind it. According to an interesting legend, the inhabitants are migrated community from the city of Walata, a part of the Ghana Empire. They are guided to this particular village by a snail. The villagers still believe in strong rituals and traditions. Any newborn baby is protected from drowning in the waters around by following the ritual of baptism in the lake.

The locals strongly protect the natural environment and artificial equipments for fishing are still not used. Bamboo sticks fishing rods are used for fishing in the waters.

The lively village can be visited at any time of the year. Visiting the Nzulezu village in the rainy seasons that is from months of April to September is the best period for maximum enjoyment. Tourists will easily canoe to their path to the village in the rainy seasons as during the summer days the lake bed dries out.

Nzulezu in Sekondi-Takoradi welcomes its guests with a friendly smile. Every tourist is given a heart-warming welcome. On Thursday, the village performs their rituals and being a sacred day, tourists are not allowed.
